I used to have my Zettelkasten in [[Org-roam]] using [[Emacs]]. These days I am migrating over by hand to [[Obsidian]]. I do not fear the [[Sunk cost]]. Migrating by hand gives me a good reason to revise my notes. By experiencing both tools, I will reach a better solution in the end. I will learn from multiple communities of creative people. I will see the problems from a broader perspective. What's most important is how your mind works with the notes. The tool is not an end in itself. When [[Org-roam]] matures a bit more (for my drives and needs), I will probably switch back again. We all have different needs. Our minds work in different ways. I have already gained a ton by switching because it introduced me to a whole new group of creative thinkers: The [[Personal knowledge management community]]. With [Back Tap in iOS 14](https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT211781) I am legit 3 taps and a few clicks away from publishing thoughts on the internet. > “Better note-taking” misses the point; what matters is “better thinking” Obsidian is the tool: > When people know they have a process in place to handle any situation, they are more relaxed. When they’re relaxed, everything improves. More gets done, with less effort, and a host of other wonderful side effects emerge that add to the outcomes of their efforts and the quality of their life.
