Digital decluttering as described in [[Digital minimalism]] works wonders for thinking clearly. Small distractions have [[Opportunity cost]]. Too much gives us [[Disutility of labor]]. We need [[Solitude]] to think properly. Otherwise we get [[Solitude deprivation]].
> The disutility of labor is the forgone utility of forgone leisure. Leisure, as any other consumer good, is subject to the law of diminishing marginal utility.
> Clutter is costly. Digital minimalists recognize that cluttering their time and attention with too many devices, apps, and services creates an overall negative cost that can swamp the small benefits that each individual item provides in isolation.
These are like ideas in Walden by [[Henry David Thoreau]]. The new economics. Calculate everything. What do you gain? What do you lose?
Speaking of clutter, I love how [[i3]] removes all clutter by design. I started using FancyZones for Windows too, and it made me enjoy working on the [[Samsung CRG9]] again. Same thing with [[Hammerspoon]] on Mac.
